About the show
About the performance
«Moonlights» — performative-movement performance based on the play by Alina Sarnatskaya, directed by Nina Khyzhna. This is an honest and frank conversation about women's experiences during wartime, about the body, sexuality, motherhood, freedom and a woman's right to independently manage her own life.
Women's stories consist of fragments of voices, memories and experiences that intertwine into a common chorus of struggle against social stereotypes and condemnation. The heroines go through war, personal crises and the search for inner freedom.
The performance uses texts and quotes by Solomiya Pavlychko, Rebecca Solnit and Virginie Depant. The project is implemented in collaboration with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Kyiv Bureau — Ukraine.
