About the performance

«Working with the Shadow» — a performance by Tamara Trunova about encountering one's own darkness, fears, and inner traumas. This is a stage exploration of what a person usually tries to hide or repress. The personal here becomes political, and the intimate — part of the great history of the time in which we live.

A space of hallucinations, distorted voices, quotes, and slogans emerges on stage — imprints of an era of crisis, war, and inner exhaustion. The performance combines pain, doubt, irony and resistance, turning into an attempt to name the darkness and find in it the power for transformation.

The project was created in partnership with the Left Bank Theater and the Berliner Festspiele with the support of the Goethe-Institut. The performance opened the international theater festival KЇ FEST in Kyiv.
