Stolen happiness

The events of Ivan Franko's play take place in 1870 in the Podgorsk village of Nezvanychi. What if the author lived today? How would this story unfold in a different time and space? Theater director Dmytro Nekrasov offers his answer.

The events in the play are transferred to the turn of the century - in the late 1990s - early 2000s. The action takes place in one of the towns of Slobozhanshchyna, where, amidst an atmosphere of change, instability, and human ambitions, the heroes find themselves trapped in lies, intrigue, and their own feelings.

Due to other people's manipulations and deceit, anyone can lose the most precious thing - their happiness. But can it be returned? And is there a way out of the impasse when the truth is too late?
